Behaviour Therapist (Therapy Assistant)
- Learning Ready Behaviour Services is a neurodiversity-affirming behaviour analytic and psychology practice, based in Waterloo, NSW.
- We provide effective and evidence-based skill-building programs, consultation, positive behaviour support, and psychology services, for children with a range of neurodevelopmental diagnoses and challenges with learning.
- We provide mobile and clinic-based services, across the EASTERN SUBURBS and INNER WEST SUBURBS of Sydney.
- Applicants MUST have access to their own reliable mode of private transportation. Experience is not essential but will be highly favourable.
- You will be directly supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or other developmental diagnoses or behavioural challenges; in home, school, community, and clinic settings, with frequent and high-quality ongoing training and supervision. Supervision will be provided for those pursuing a Masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis and seeking the opportunity to become certified in Applied Behaviour Analysis in Australia, as part of our Professional Development Pathways program, subject to criteria.
- Our students range in age, from as young as 2 years old, and present with a wide range of interests, skills, and challenges. We teach a variety of skills, such as communication, emotional regulation, daily living health, safety, and hygiene skills, leisure skills, social skills and cognitive skills; as well as supporting areas of concern that are problematic to the student's life and learning. We work closely with the family, and other professionals. We take a compassionate, trauma-informed, values-based approach!
- This position requires candidates who are committed to a career in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Candidates who cannot describe and outline their commitment to a career in ABA in Australia will unfortunately not be considered.

Requirements:
- Highly Favourable: 2+ years experience working in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis; implementing variety of teaching curriculum under ongoing supervision, including data collection, and in-the-moment adjustments and decision-making, exposure to assisting Behaviour Consultants/Supervisors' implementation of therapist training, caregiver support, administration of curriculum assessment tools. Applicants without this level of experience or equivalent will be applying for an entry-level Behaviour Therapist position.
- Full Time Availability Monday to Friday, up to 6:00pm
- Part-Time Applicants may be considered with greater than 25 hours of weekly availability
- Completion of minimum 10 hour on-demand online training course on Practical Functional Assessment and Skills-Based Treatment for Implementors: https://ftfbc.com/course-list/ or willingness to obtain and complete during onboarding at own cost
- Working towards a related qualification (ABA, Education, Psychology, Science, Speech Pathology)
- Robust work ethic
- Ability to work independently, and collaboratively as a team member
- Proficient communication ability - both vocal and written
- Strong professionalism in interactions with stakeholders
- Own mode of private transportation (applicants without a vehicle they can access will unfortunately not be considered)
- Current NSW Drivers License
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain during onboarding at own cost
- Current NDIS Workers Screening Check or willingness to obtain during onboarding at own cost
- Current First Aid Certificate + CPR or willingness to obtain during onboarding at own cost
- Current DET Mandatory Child Protection Training
- Ability to be SILLY and interact with children
- Willingness to learn and work independently as well as part of a great team
- Keen interest in being part of building the field of ABA in Australia
